Millennial Events is excited to announce the first annual Lakeside BMX Jam, a BMX Freestyle contest to be held at Jurong Lake Gardens Lakeside Skatepark on the weekend of August 24-25, 2024.The primary event for the weekend will be a BMX street contest featuring men’s and women’s divisions for beginner, intermediate and expert/open division riders. In addition, we will also be throwing a BMX bowl jam in the big bowl at Jurong for open division riders.Beginner and Intermediate division riders will be competing for prize packages, while the Open division will be battling for their share of a S$5,000 prize purse. We’re excited to welcome Pro BMX Rider and Olympic judge Brian Kachinsky who will head up the judging panel on his first visit to Singapore.
LAKESIDE BMX JAM is supported by Sport SG and part of the inaugural Singapore Urban Sports and Fitness Festival.

Beginner: Beginner divisions are open to riders that are new to BMX Freestyle and competition.Intermediate: Intermediate division is open to experienced riders that aren’t at the highest level of competition.Expert/Open: Open division is the highest level of competition, open to professionals, sponsored riders, national team members and experienced riders. 30 minute jam conducted in an “organized jam” format where each rider drops in using a pre-determined order. Riders may “pass” their turn at any time if they’d like. Jam finishes after all riders have ridden past the 30 minute clock expiration.
Women’s Open classes:
While current female participation in Freestyle BMX is currently low in the Southeast Asia, we hope events like this will spur participation and community. We will have cash purse for women in our first year and hope to grow participation and in turn grow the prize purse each year.
Judging
Head judge is Brian Kachinsky, UCI accredited Olympic BMX judge.The Lakeside BMX Jam 2024 will be judged by a panel of on-site BMX judges. The judging panel will evaluate each run of the competition using an overall impression method. The overall impression result will be derived from a sum of the judging criteria listed below.The overall impression of the individual judges will be tabulated and an overall result of the panel will determine the ranking of each rider in the competition.
